I think they’re different subspecies technically, and were isolated due to geography primarily. But if you put them next to one another, they would try to fuck (unless he’s a rhinocel, in which case it’s over for him).

Race in biology is something entirely different than race in the "normal language", even more confusing because "Rasse" (the german word for race) actually means "breed" (in the sense of a line that is clearly defined/wanted/bred/selected by humans), so when you read german articles about various animals you have so many different meanings of the word race. And also in American literature race is so often used in a confusing manner - there some use it as a synonym for subspecies and others use it again to describe something that still has quite some differences but no differences that would qualify for subspecies status. So race has quite many meanings and it's exact usage is extremely difficult to understand.

There are (morphological/genetic) differences but not enough to qualify for a subspecies. In the end most of these taxonomic units are subjective to some degree. There are dozens of different concepts for species alone (and these vary again for microbes, for animals, for plants, etc.).
Most commonly known are the biospecies concept (everything that can reproduce with each other in theory/in praxis with fertile offspring while experiencing reproductive isolations from other groups; what to do with asexually reproducing or dead organisms then?) or the morphological species concept (members of a species correspond in physical traits with themselves and their offspring).
Then there is that new trend with the integrative species concept (where different concepts are combined to make more clarity).
But so far only the cynical species concept is (undeniably) true: A species is what a taxonomist decides to call a species.
