ER and mass shootings catch the eyes. But there are way more things that can harm the economy and normie soyciety than those.
So, apparently "Asian carps" are infesting the Misssisipi river system and everything is being done to prevent those carps from reaching the Great Lakes.
There's a section of canal that's literally elecrified to prevent the asian carps from crossing into the Great Lakes.
In theory, one can just catch some Asian carps which are plentiful in the river, or even just buy some at some Asian fish market, and release them in the Great Lakes and cause a major havoc in the sport fishing industry in the Great Lakes.
Normies hate Asian carp coz those fish are bony as fuck, so they're hard to de-bone and eat. And they jump out of water. There's been incidence of people hurt/killed by Asian carp jumping out of face (hit on the head while on speed boat). And they out-compete other fish which are more valuable, esepcially the "sport fishing" type.
Just imagine that, some $100 worth of fish in a tank or something, maybe 3 pairs of fish, released into the Great Lakes, can turn into millions in a few years and totally destroy many businesses (think all those sports fishing clubs and boat rental).
Compared to that, ER almost seem too risky and low return/reward.

Stopping these invasive carp from spreading into Lake Erie is another concern to many involved, as Lake Erie provides the ideal habitat for the carp to survive. This could lead to the fish choking out the other native fish that exist there, which would result in a major loss for the sport-fishing industry in the area. This is especially true since catching these carp with traditional fishing methods is difficult, which makes it harder for the industry to shift the sport fishing from one fish to another.
