"BMI doesn't matter"

It goes without saying that "health at every size" landwhales believe this wholeheartedly, but normie men like to believe this too. They think that because they play around with isolation machines at their local Planet Fitness, they "lift" now, so BMI doesn't apply to them because some massive guy they read about online is ripped at an obese BMI.

Of course, it never occurs to them that the guy they read about has top 0.1% genetics, is on a massive amount of drugs, and gets coaching from the best minds of sports and nutritional science, while they don't even know how to curl a dumbbell and don't look the tiniest bit like they lift despite their hundreds of wasted hours "lifting".

In reality, it's difficult for a natural lifter with average genetics and a lean body composition to have an overweight BMI without being at least somewhat close to his genetic limit. If someone has an overweight BMI and is at least relatively lean, you can bet he doesn't look remotely like your average skinnyfat gymbro.

Normies have turned a space for physical self-improvement into yet another excuse to be a pig. Jfl.

Good observation.. I've heard numerous fat guys saying the ideal bodyweight tables are not accurate.

But just like I say a 5'4 woman should be 115 lbs, and if she is above that she needs to lose weight.. I say for men too, if you don't fit into the ideal bodyweight range of the 1950's weight tables, you've got more to go friend.

What these fat guys don't take into account also with their calculations, is the body drops a lot of muscle mass on the legs, butt & midsection as the overall bodyweight comes down. Fat dudes have large leg muscles as the body needs it to move them around.

BMI was originally meant to be applied to large populations. If you're gymmaxxed, your BMI will be highter than recommended because it only takes into account height and weight rather than body composition.

Is there any data on average body fat percentages? Especially for men? Some poster here said that those BF% home scales are within 0.2% accuracy of high-level medical "pods" that are used to measure body fat.

But since foids typically can't/don't build muscle, I'd guess their weight charts are pretty accurate.

In this pic, I'm suspect of the male data but muscle isn't swaying the female metrics:
Age x weight

I have way too high BMI for my height but I'm lean. I try to actually lose as much weight as possible to compete in combat sports, but it just doesn't go down. It just fucking stays on me like glue. Despite this, I don't actually look good as far as my physique is concerned, I think most of my weight is due to large frame and bone structure, I look like those stocky wrestlers or judokas.

When people see me they are surprised at how much I weigh because they assume that I weigh like 20 pounds less because I'm lean and not that tall yet I'm around 220lbs right now at 6'0''.

My physique is like that of Cain Velasquez, who is also overweight BMI for his height (6'1'' and 250 lbs) but doesn't look too muscular despite being a lean athlete

I think if you're eating healthy and doing sports, a lot of weight is down to bone structure and not just muscles. So even if you're lean and have high BMI, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll look like some fitness model.

I always laugh at fat fucks who try to LARP like they are arnold Schwarzenegger and that their high BMI is just pure muscle when they are basically all lard. Its obviously just them trying to pretend that they are healthy (despite body builders not even being healthy to begin with).

I was at my fittest at 150lbs at 5ft9.5. That is a completely healthy weight range for my height yet I was treated as Auswitchz or (he's soooo skinny he must be a drug addict). "You need to eat more". You just can't win as a male. You have to be bang on 24.5 > 25.0 bmi as a male to not be seen as too skinny or too fat, where as girls can be anything from 18.0 BMI to 26.0 BMI and they will still find love (even at 30+ BMI landwhales will).

Basically everything is an excuse to be fat.

Kind of true, except if you're serious about any kind of athletic pursuit, you'd better be leaner than your average layman, and you'd better have an outstanding excuse if you're not. (In fact, your average layman would do well to be leaner too. Average is clinically overfat and carries a ton of health issues with it, at least in the US and other countries like it.)

That's actually my BMI right now, and I have visible abs and veins running down my arms. Unless I go out of my way to wear a tiny shirt, like kids' size, or just go shirtless, I get treated like I'm skinny. Vanity sizing has pretty much ruined clothes for people who bother to stay healthy and fit.

Who gives a fuck, my face and disease ruins all positives about me.

Even if you somehow have a high BMI and you're low bodyfat, it doesn't matter. Your heart sees all mass as the same and it has to pump blood through it all.

High blood pressure is directly related to BMI.

If you do cardio, the benefits of that to your cardiorespiratory and cardiovascular systems can mitigate the risks inherent to high BMI. A stronger heart can support more body mass. Using myself as an example, my resting heart rate and blood pressure are well within the healthy ranges despite my high BMI because I do distance running and don't eat like crap. The risks inherent to high adiposity, however, can only be treated by lowering adiposity.

depends on the BMI

if it's over 30, you're fucked no matter who you are

but no one will be over 25 and still be lean (<= 10%) without ( a lot ) of steroids

Single-digit body fat year-round and drug-free isn't realistic for most people. 10-15% is decent year-round condition in my opinion. Problem is most guys are way above 15% and underestimate how fat they actually are.

I have never heard nornies claim this

lol mr.obvious
normie males cope with everything much harder than us
