That's just retarded. For most of history since humans learned how to farm, carbohydrates were the main source of calories for the majority of people. The problem is that american cooking habits are shit. They don't eat enough vegetable or other things that make feel full but don't have so many calories, so they overeat. Also they eat to much fat, and to much sugar in case they drink soda everyday (which is massively retarded). Also by driving by car everywhere they don't burn calories by walking or going by bike. Fat has nothing to do with it. Lots of people do Keto and consume nothing but fat and protein and shed weight fast. I lost 100lbs in my late highschool years with Keto and felt great. I got fat off milk and fatty meat and lost my weight with a bunch of different things including low-carb/keto, but got stuck trying to fast and low-carb through an 18-22% body fat sticking point until I learned to embrace the high-carb low-fat paradigm.
