Whatever we may say, the happiest moment of the happy man is that of his falling asleep, just as the unhappiest moment of the unhappy man is that of his awaking.

In the Apology of Socrates, Plato represents this wisest of mortals as saying that, even if death deprived us of consciousness for ever, it would be a wonderful gain, for a deep, dreamless sleep is to be preferred to any day, even of the happiest life.

The hours pass the more quickly the more pleasantly they are spent, and the more slowly the more painfully they are spent, since pain, not pleasure, is the positive thing, whose presence makes itself felt. In just the same way we become conscious of time when we are bored, not when we are amused. Both cases prove that our existence is happiest when we perceive it least; from this it follows that it would be better not to have it.

yeah i agree. I felt nothing when i was not born

thats why in Buddhism, the highest reward a man can get is enlightenment, whcih allow you to escape the cycle of reincarnation and you'd never be born again in this world, totally breaking free :bigbrain:
tell that to the sperm

i totally agree the state of nonexisting is where u dont feel anything and not suffer from this messed up world we live in

tell that to the sperm
The sperm is pure willing, and has no knowing to judge the life which it is blindly willing into.

But if people can test life before hand, I am of the opinion most of them will only gladly reject it.

It's also known as prajna-paramita, the state beyond duality of knower and known/subject and object.

Sentience sucks. I wish I could just vanish and let my body live on autopilot.
