One of the very few things that’s kept me together is soul music. Honestly for me, there’s multiple facets as to why this helps me, and a specific reason why it might help all nigcels.
When I was a young boy, I used to go to church, as many African American children do, regardless of their parents moral status, best believe you were in that church on Sunday singing your gospels. Whenever I listen to this music, it brings me back to a time to when I was happy, innocent, and oblivious to the cruelties of this world. It grounds me and prevents me from going off of the deep end, as I write this, I listen to “Loves in Need of Love Today” by Stevie Wonder, one of my favorite songs from this genre of music. There have been countless times where I was on the verge of suicide, then I would pop my playlist on and then cry my eyes out and lock in the next day. Hopefully someone can relate with me on this, although I doubt anyone will, someone’s probably just gonna call me a nigger and say dnr.
Now for the reason that soul music could help a nigcel, and it’s honestly easy to understand, it’s the lyrical content. If you listen to the music enough, it deludes you into believing that you possibly have a chance, that there might just be a little bit of a chance you find true and genuine love and find the woman of your dreams. Most of the music from this genre is about love and relationships (and sometimes sex), so the songs that you can listen to are plentiful by the bunch. My personal favorite lyrics from any type of soul music are from “Zoom” by The Commodores. “I may be just your foolish dreamer, but I don’t care. ‘Cause I know my happiness is waiting for out there, somewhere.” The song STARTS off like this, and this is like the main theme of the song, it’s absolutely wonderful, please give it a listen.
Not only this, this music also lets me keep up my appearances in public, like a few weeks ago, I was talking with my brother (not literal brother, just a nickname), and he said something so outlandishly blue pilled I almost snapped, but you know what kept me together? “I’ll be Around” by the Spinners. The benefits to this music are endless.
