I posted a thread just now about being an oldcel and it got me thinking a lot of people on here and elsewhere talk about how Tinder basically destroyed the dating market for the likes of us, they are absolutely right however this shit was going on even back in my day over a decade and a half ago.
During that time MySpace was taking off and me and my best friend, who is the best looking chad I know jumped on it, excited to see what it was about. We added each other, our close friends, all of our old school friends and college friends but then came the difference - He was all of a sudden inundated with friend requests from random girls who ranged from hot to ugly as sin, all commenting on his pictures and asking him to meet up on dates. He ended up travelling to other parts of the country to fuck these girls. He didn't do this a lot because he's not a prick but he did it a fair few times.
He tried giving me advice on how to do this like it would be just as easy for me as I sat there with my boring MySpace page with 20 friends on it, like as if his looks weren't even a factor in this. This exact same thing carried on with the introduction of Facebook. It sounds strange now but in the early days of Facebook people basically added people even if they didn't know them in real life. I know this still happens sometimes now but back then it seemed everyone was doing it.
At the time there were no hugely popular dating websites and in the absence of Tinder girls were basically using the most popular social media as a medium to reach and fuck attractive guys rather than get to know guys in their local area who might be in their fucking league, essentially an unofficial dating service. It all started there boys.
My point is Tinder or not there would have been no stopping women whether average, ugly or attractive accessing or trying to access attractive guys. They would have simply found another medium. Tinder just blew it up hugely.
