I think subconsciously everyone has a bs detector built in, just like we recognize attractive faces, we also recognize when it's over for us.

The neet epidemic could be explained by this, some of us subconsciously or consciously recognized we would never ascend and just try to have the most fun we can with porn, vidya and other copes no different to alcoholics/drug abusers few decades ago.

And the negative associations with such copes comes only from the fact that it's sub8 men that do them, should Chad do it, it would have been praised

Nope. How much in the way of copes can a NEET buy? Escorts, booze, cocaine are expensive. Unless you have a trust fund, being a NEET is a bad idea. And sooner or later your parents are going to die -- who's going to pay for your shit then? Don't forget that having your own place affords you a great deal of privacy.

You're spot on about this, though. Activities enjoyed by uglier, unathletic men are viewed in a more negative light for no other reason than the fact that many who partake in activities are ripe targets for bullying. Every "nerdy" subculture is a good example -- anime and league of legends, for example. You don't see people making fun of American football even though it's the most ridiculous sport there is.
