Yea because humans are like the mage light build of apes whereas neanderthals kept high muscle density and strength they lost I think mostly because of being outbred and numbers on our side any kind of close altercation though with one of them one on one and you would be fucking dead not dumb either behind us but could speak and coordinate with each other.
This is not true. The cromagnons however actually were like you described.
Neanderthals were very short.
Cromagnons were all 190cm tall and had very wide and strong bones.
