Many of the "predators" are nice and shy young men who just don't have any luck with the ladies and therefore try to have some romance with young teens (13-15 year olds) who don't have standards yet because they have no experience and don't know about their value as a young female. The vast majority of them are not interested in children (12 or younger) which is why their decoys are usually teens that pretend to be 13-15 years old. In many civilized countries, 14 is a perfectly legal age of consent and it isn't considered a crime having consensual intercourse with a person that young.
The comments are hateful and misandristic. The "predators" are often called "disgusting pedophiles" even though they clearly showed interested for a decoy that has already reached puberty, not an actual child. Many of the predators are balding and / or have ugly facial features, such as a receding chin or a crooked nose, or a hunchback. Others are very short, one man even obviously suffering from dwarfism:

One of the "predators" was a nice disabled man with cerebral palsy who, thorought the whole video, acted very polite and clearly said that he would never force himself onto the decoy even before he got ambushed by the "morally superior" Chris Hansen, a tall and attractive man of European descent, who makes his living by humiliating ugly men.
The aforementioned disabled and mentally retarded man with cerebral palsy (possibly having an IQ below the threshold for mental retardation, which is 70) was clear about his romantic intentions and did not want to rape the decoy, yet the reactions of people commenting are a mixture of disgust and hatred ... note that most of the people commenting are women:
Also note that comments like these are not the worst ones ... there are people outright calling for the murder of the "predators", many of them clearly not interested in rape of a child, but consensual sex with a young teen. These "opinions" are very popular among YouTubers.
Many of the "creepy old men" this show apparently features, at least if we were judging by the people commenting, are in fact young men, and sometimes teens themselves, some as young as 19:

The reason the show came to an end was because one of the "predators", realizing that it was a set up, got surrounded by police and cameras at his home and decided to commit suicide.
In times like these, where most men can not possibly get a girlfriend (80/20 rule), some men are desperate enough to try and date teens that are considered "too young" by the local law. This is a tragedy and not something we as a society should exploit, but rather feel deep regret for. Some of the predators are sick and need help, like that guy who wanted to rape a cat with cool whip, but others are victims of the terrible condition the sexual market is in for males in this day and age, and not predators, or worse, actual pedophile rapists.
This show has destroyed countless lives and makes hating on ugly men seem like a moral virtue. It is not, and most of the commenters and people who enjoy this show are sadistic and should be ashamed of themselves, not the "predators" who wanted to have a consensual date with a teen.
