Im sure everyone is aware of various articles circulating around claiming that this woman Alana created the word "involuntary celibacy" in 1993, this is a myth and FAKE NEWS.

Do a quick search on google scholar and you will find articles dating back to 1881 talking about involuntary celibacy.

Here is one published in 1979 (so 14 years before Alana's site) that reads:

OP's observation is actually pretty interesting. If you go to google books and go to "Tools" >> "Any time" >> change to 20th or 19th century you'll see "involuntary celibacy" pops up a fair number of times throughout history

I've seen her credited with the full term. Obviously she came upon it and merely picked the phrase to describe herself. If you want to talk guys who actually coined words or concepts, look at PSL or Love-Shy.

Even if she did shorten the term, there is no evidence linking her to the term's usage in the context of incel subculture. Someone could have easily come up with the exact same term without being aware of her having shortened it. It is not particularly difficult to construct.
