It's a thought that crossed my mind too, but it poses several ethical problems and resembles the dystopian societies described in novels. I fear that an elite could have access to more sophisticated equipment than the populace, leading to an even more divided society. In monomorphic societies, looks is no longer an important factor in competition.

The problem you describe is the result of sexual dimorphism: when there is too much disparity within a species there is sexual selection and only the tallest, most beautiful individuals have unlimited access to sex.
