7 people are chosen and they are given a servant to help them fight, that is a heroic spirit, which represents a hero from the past/future or folktale/story.

yup my favourite anime. i have been following it for 10 years since i watched the crappy anime version they first released in 2006 and 2010.
A new studio picked it up in 2011 and it has been doing amazing since.
and they do have lancelot, almost every historical character has been done.
also every character has a role that they are summoned.
Archer (uses a bow)
Saber (uses a sword)
Berserker (uses a heavy weapon)
Lancer (uses a spear)
Caster (uses magic)
Rider (uses a mount)
Assassin (uses a fast weapon)
Lancelot in his two forms:

Lancelot was a complete bad ass in the 2011 anime

Was about to watch fate/stay night because it was the only one I knew of. I didn't even know there were this many. thanks though. Also did you know they made a game too I hear that is also good and might try it out after I watch all this.

yeah the game (visual novel) is the source material for the anime, really really good, even if you don't play visual novel you should still check it out if you are into romance/action/dark fantasy
