Idk, maybe it's the fact that normiespotting on public transit is essentially viewing one large sample of the population after another. You don't just see them for a few seconds, you see them for at least a few minutes, so if there are any anomalies, their image is essentially seared into your memory. Funny how memory works.
Here are examples of random strangers whose images/faces I still remember after a few years:
1. Some 7ft ricecel on the Hong Kong MTR, like I mentioned.
2. A 500-lb woman on the LA Metro. She took up as much space as two people.
3. A black man with a skin disorder and no teeth on the NYC subway. Felt bad for him. Probably a homelesscel.
