I had the thought of LDAR permanently in some sci fi setting. Assuming that there is no god, this is our one and only life, we will never have power, all our wants, needs and desires. Now imagine if some sci fi shit in 100 years allowed us to be plugged into beds that would allow us to lucid dream forever. We could be our own gods in our imagination. We could do anything, we can feel emotions, we could control reality to what fits us, we could make sentient people and creatures, have a sense of physical presence and more. This cope would be so good that men would sacrifice everything just to use it, government might even have to shut it down due to men not wanting to do anything other than LDAR.
