RageFuel My grandpa told me when he was in uni his summer job paid for all of his tuition and rent

The cost of living was a lot cheaper back then, and money was a lot more worth than it is now.

tbh uni would probably be cheaper/better if so many people didn't go to it. The way higher education is set up now is dumb. Only a small percentage of people really need to go to uni, unless you are in STEM or are an academic uni isn't really needed (other than the degree for getting a job, but its not really "needed" skills wise). Honestly uni degree havers should be a small percentage of the population.

(Actual) boomers have no idea how good they had it. And they'll always tell us shit like "when I was your age, I already had this and that and had already done X and Y", etc.

impossible in 2020

Everything was cheaper and easier in boomer times. Secure, high paying jobs were easy to get. College, cars, and houses were cheap. The dating scene was much easier. Then boomers turned around and made everything into a scam for subsequent generations.

Don't even bother discussing your problems with boomers. Those fuckers have no concept of how hard and expensive every aspect of life is now compared to boomer times.

It's done to create a situation where everyone is in debt & create unnecessary stress of competition for a job, basically reduce your freedoms & make you more agreeable to shit treatment, less likely to strike & be a rebel.

My boss bought his house for 2000$ back in the 60s. Now it's easily worth 300000$. He'll die in 10 years.

I hope your grandpa dies painfully for being one of the many boomers who anally fucked us societywise

Are you a burgercel?

JFL at the price of an education in burgerland, over if you are a poorcel, absolutely ridiculous.

What the fuck
my dad has similar stories.
Makes you realize how worthless all boomer advice is, they had it easy to an insane degree.

My dad did this summer job at AUDI back in the day, it was a deal they offered "555" - 5 weeks of work, 5000 bucks payment + 5 days of paid vacation.

Bro, I live with my parents and dont pay for rent or food ngl, and I have to save up for a year to make that kind of money.

Legit. 95% of jobs do not need a degree or degree level experience (of course, employers still pointlessly demand it but that's another issue). It took me literally half a day of training to learn how to do my job, anyone over the age of 12 could do it and the same is true for almost all the positions at my work. The demand for degrees is a cancer. It used to be the norm for only a small percentage of people to have a degree but now university is basically an extension of high school it's so common. It makes even less sense these days because with the internet you can literally learn about any subject on earth for free, and receive better quality teaching than you could pay for at a university. The only real reason for universities is their offering of expensive equipment/facilities which an individual couldn't afford (like a lab or some kind of technical machinery etc). Of course this will never take off because normies can't bear the thought of missing 3-5 years of partying, sleeping around, and getting wasted, which is the real appeal of university is to most people.
