ello! So I've got quite the complicated situation. So my girlfriend of 2 years (I've known her since childhood) and I went to a party with some of my friends at a nice lake house, there was plenty of drinking and at around 12 I had a headache and decided to lay down for a bit, while I was inside her and all my friends were outside talking and while they were one of them put his hand on her knee so she did it back, and eventually put her head on his shoulders. After they all went inside at around 2, we all went to sleep, I was awake on the couch and noticed the guy she did all this with was in a bedroom alone, she kept going to the bathroom and eventually went in the bedroom, I followed in and asked what was going on, and she denied that anything was (or was supposed to happen) after the fact. Fast forward to when we actually fell asleep, we were all on the floor with her next to me, and then the guy she cuddled up to next to the picnic table next to her. While I was asleep they kissed acouple times, she kissed his arms, and he tried to finger her although she didnt let that happen. I woke up to the sounds of kissing but she put me back to sleep, and me being niave and confused believed that. 3 days later we were at another party, and that's when she told me, she was devastated with guilt, but the other guys denied it all (obviously) because he himself is in a 5 year relationship. The month leading up to this I was going through a depressed anxious spell where I hadn't been the best boyfriend in the world, I wasnt able to have sex because I never felt like it, I constantly compared myself to other men. She also suffers from extreme bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression. She doesnt feel like she fits in and claims that she just got caught up in the moment and liked the attention from everybody, and that I'm the first case of cheating. I still love this girl, or at least loved what we had, and I'm willing to rebuild, but another part of me doesnt belive that someone who would do that right in front of me could care about me. The only reason I'm considering another chance was the honesty (she told me every detail), her willingness to startover, her accountability ( she admits to everything with no blame) , and our history. Will these doubts of us working ever subside? Can it actually work? Thank you
TL;DR girlfriend kissed a guy laying next to me, we were going through a lengthy rough patch, alcohol was involved, she says she still loves me but I'm torn between wanting it to work and doubting her affection toward me
