Stocks isn't gambling if you buy and hold shares of numerous companies like with an s&p 500 or index fund... anything diversified really. You can buy international funds too instead of just domestic. If you have any sizable amount of money you'll WANT to be invested in stocks or real estate because the US currency loses it's value by around 2% each year to inflation.
Day trading on the other hand... that is gambling. Nobody can accurately predict what the market is going to do within a short time span.

I live in America so it's dollars not euros. Also part of my income comes from investments.
In order to save that much money in the first place you have to have a scarcity mentality. If I can avoid wasting even $5 dollars I would do so.
Maybe in the future I'll give in and hire a hooker, but I'm in my 20s so money is much more valuable to me right now because I know the long term compounding interest will have a snowball effect and turn it into a lot more in the future.

I agree, but just an FYI you can actually safely scale up your expenses if you budget correctly. For example. By living off 20% of your net income and investing 80%; your income and budget will naturally increase over time and you'll be able to afford to buy more and more expensive things without it being an actual detriment to your finances.
Most people don't do that. In fact around 84% of Americans save less than 15% of their annual income. Instead they get into a bunch of debt and max out their available income. They aren't willing to temporarily live below their means in order to build long term wealth.
