When I open the door the stink almost knocks me out. It's a moldy scent.

But I have a simple logic: If a food isn't open, there is no need for a clean fridge. Just keep everything heremtically closed.

But I should clean it some day...

Yeah, and one interim solution is to open up a box of baking soda and put it in there...- that'll absorb a good bit of the odor, even before you get around to cleaning it

You likely don't need to clean it, just throw out rotting food. Animal products go off quickest. Anything containing meat or dairy will go off within a week or two and then start to go foul. Everything else should last a while.
