Same here, but maybe as you get older you can learn to be friends, I didn't like my father until my early 20s, now he's over once a week for coffe and bullshitting and we get along well, you learn to forget such things as family is all you ever will have as a truecel.

My father has a drinking problem because he grew up in poverty. He had a horrible childhood. Atleast whenever i do talk with him i listen and simpathise/simpathise (idk how to spell it). I will try to make our relationship better
