Moving out at 18 is a bad financial move most people this age mentally or financially stable enough to handle moving out and living on their own unless they were hyper independent at a young age 20-21 is a better age to move out by then most people are financially and mentally prepared for the real world they’ve had 2-3 years of real world experience I won’t fault anybody for moving out at 18 if you can afford it then go for it all I’m saying is it’s not a good financial move for the average 18 year old

Moving out at all is an American thing invented by banks to keep the housing market growing. Boomers fell for this marketing just like they fell for everything else like circumcision and engagement rings.
Suddenly living at home, getting a job, and taking care of your aging parents meant you were a deadbeat.

In first world countries, you just live in the house you were born, inherited it, and gave it to your kids. There are neighborhoods in Europe where families have been living in the same home for 300 years.

This doesn’t sell mortgages, so boomer Americans instead kick their own flesh and blood onto the streets to please (((them))).
