The truth is that if you look at the average guy 25 years ago, they weren't nearly as looksmaxxed as they are today. All the graphs show that the incel crisis began ~2008. The fact is that the average incel is significantly more looksmaxxed than the average person (even if it doesn't help) and thus would ascend or even slay in the 70s/80s.
The issue is that standards have exploded faster than you can possibly looksmax. Normal people wearn'y maticoiously gymcelling and doing skincare routines back then, but now days you have to to avoid being accused of rape for looking at a woman. Except for a few deformed people (and insane mentalcels like me) here, your inceldom is the result of rocketing standards and hypergamy moreso than bottom tier genetics. Looksmaxxing now days is basically like the aftermath of a gold rush: Whereas once doing it would cause you to strike rich, now you have to do it to even begin on the same playing field as anyone else.
