What does "good" mean? The simple answer is that defining the meaning of "good" is the purpose of a system of moral values
The reason we all have this feeling that "being good" leads to failure is that there are TWO systems of moral values at work in our society, not just one.
- The old moral system that originated in Christianity, and which is generally what we think "being good" means
- The Chad/Stacy moral value system.
The two systems are of course mutually incompatible and the second one is eating away at the first. But the first is not completely gone either. If it had, society would crumble entirely.
The dissonance we feel stems from the coexistence of the two system and also the unacknowledged nature of this situation.
To get out of the rot, we need to develop the ability to clearly distinguish between the two systems and to identify the areas where each dominates.
The only chances we have in society are in the areas where system number one still predominates. There are still plenty of places like that and this is the reason society is still somewhat functioning.

Nowadays I just regret every single day for being such a wimp and not taking propER action against my past bullies, would've been so satisfying otherwise.
So my advice for any youngcels that lurk in here: do it, if you wanna be a dick to people who wronged you just do it, otherwise you'll regret it years later down the road
