Title. Play any of the supposed best games of all time and only a few are actually good. Most are just games millennials played when they were young and hype us as the best games because of nostalgia. Perfect example is Super Mario World. It's inferior to Mario Bros 3 in every single way yet millennials will tell you it's the best game of all time because growing up it's the only Mario game they had.

Final Fantasy 6 is similar. A fairly good game but completely over hyped because it's the first JRPG millennials played so they act like it's the second coming of Christ.

Point is you should never trust the general consensus on old games. It's extremely skewed and if you only play the games they tell you are the best, you're doing yourself a disservice.

Zoomer take tbh.
Most, if not all "old" games are better than modern games in pretty much every aspect.
Gaming companies used to care about the quality of their games instead of trying to cater to DEI Faggots.
Storytelling, gampleay, worldbuilding were all main concerns gaming companies had with their games, and as a result older games are much more fun and enjoyable, not to mention how much freedom you used to have in those games.

Sure, nostalgia plays a big part in the love for older games, but that doesn't change the fact that they were in fact superior.
Also SMW is the most normie pick you could've chosen.

Come back when you play Warcraft 2.

I've never really had a lot of "misses" when it came to old games that are viewed like classics tbqh. Deus Ex deserves all the praise it gets and then some, same with Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, Planetscape Torment, Fallout 1, New Vegas, Dragon Quest 5, etc

forgot to mention that I'm a zoomer with no nostalgia tinted glasses for any of these

You hate every single good classic game and only play bing boo wahoo slops. And yet you dare to call me that i have a bad taste LMAO

Maybe my Halo 3 thread is because of this reason.... nostalgia.
When I play halo 3, it´s like I go back in time and am completely disconnected from reality,
time stands still for a moment.

I like plenty of games that aren't from Nintendo. Bomberman, Castlevania, Gradius, any JRPG that involves breeding anime girls, Crash Bandicoot, Dungeon crawlers, shooters. It just so happens that a good percentage of my favorite games happen to be made by Nintendo

Old games are better. I never said they weren't. I didn't proclaim that Mario World was my favorite. I was using it as an example of millennials acting like the games they played growing up are objectively the best. Other games on SNES like Castlevania 4 are much better platformers.

To each their own. Personally I prefer Combat Evolved although I agree 3 has the best multiplayer.

I think it's mainly console gamers who tend to hype up the most mid games.

For some reason millenials seem to overhype a lot of the mediocre modern games like GOW 2018 and Alan Woke 2.
But the ones that like late 90's and early 2000's games usually have good taste, but they overrate some games like Kingdom Hearts
