Status is relative, it's part of a zero-sum game, someone else's harm is your benefit. Imagine yourself as the only person on the world. Does your lonelyness stay the same as it is now? There would be no one to compare youself to, no one to see videos of online, no one you would be aware of who has all the things you are missing. In some sense it would obviously be worse, as you would be totaly alone and probably soon die, but the point is that there would also be some positive change in how you percieve your own social isolation.

Well, not like that's the kind of eugenics I would advocate for, but it is true that in a world where undesirable genes were expunged from the gene pool no one would share our struggle. Many are accepting the fact that they would have to be killed, or at least fantasizing about the time long after that, when the violent struggle is over and everyone is born beautiful and healthy and tall and smart and a good person, a world obviously worth fantasizing about, even if you might be repulsed by the specific the method of choice. Though, maybe if there was any other group in history doing eugenics seriously at such a scale through less violent methods, maybe these users would instead take that group's side. It's just, the nazis are both willing to combat the root of our struggle and they tried to kill the jews, who are the defacto face of evil on this site. The fact that they are basically no longer around helps as well, as that allows one to idealize them more easily.

You're awareness of the future exists in the here and now. Dying for a cause does not feel like dying for nothing, even though it looks like the exact same from the outside. Ideas, thoughts, predictions, fantasies, those are also real things, they exist right now in the physcial space inside your head, as connections between neurons or however the brain saves them. You care because the model inside your head you use to navigate the world lets you predict what the current state of things will develope into in the future. That model, and your believe in its validity, are real, in the way all physical objects are, and present long before the predicted future itself arrives.
