You would choose that life because it gives you freedom and happiness. But you don't have to be an extremeist to be connected with nature. Of course I would wish to be but you don't HAVE to. The only modern comforts I would wish for are music and books. NEETs are free because they aren't part of the slave system and do whatever they want to.
