'We put the pressure on to join Men in Sheds'

The Loughborough Men in Sheds project is now mixed, after women were invited to come along.

TL;DR: A men's group, primarily for old men, in the UK, called "Men In Sheds" has grown and become popular. Naturally, women wanted in. So they nagged and forced their way in. Now it's destroyed, and is no longer a men's group. The BBC reports this as a wholly good thing. The only gender segregation permitted in society is to benefit females, when females want it. If men want it, it's not allowed.

It started out as a gathering to reduce loneliness and combat social isolation among elderly men.

Now there are more than 1,000 Men in Sheds projects running across the country, where members get together, talk and learn new skills.

But while many are aimed exclusively at men, one group in Loughborough, Leicestershire, has taken the decision to admit women and members' wives.

Member Brenda Needham said: "I kept asking my husband all the while 'why can't we join?'"


The 74-year-old added: "Eventually they let us in, just one morning, eventually it became all the time, and now it's 50% women, and we absolutely love it."

When the women were allowed into the workshop, members decided to keep a quiet room with a model railway display in it, just for men.

Andrew McNerney, 70, admitted there was initially some resistance to becoming a mixed group.

He said: "There was apprehension, but in all honesty, it's turned out well.

"We [the men] escape now and again [to the quiet room] and have a chat and weigh things up."

JFL. So they allowed women to join. It became 50% women. So men had to make a small room for just men so they could get the fuck away from them. Men, of course, built the fucking sheds, and everything in them. It's a microcosm of society. The same happens with everything, with houses-- men build them, and everything in them, they invite women in, women take over, so men have to escape into a small room or basement, while the woman gets the run of the rest of the house.
And JFL that men have to justify wanting their own spaces with "mental health", and basically have to say that they need them so they won't kill themselves. They can't simply say they want to get the fuck away from women so they can enjoy themselves and have some peace. The funny thing is that all the responses to this story have been on the side of men, even on reddit. That's how extreme the misandry in society is getting.
