Men are the true romantics. The overwhelming majority of artists who paint scenes depicting/representing love, musicians who wrote songs about love*, screenwriters and authors who wrote scripts or novels about love (not including shitty chad-fantasy) were male. Throughout history, men have sacrificed more for women than they have for their gods. Our evolutionary journey has forced us to care about a woman's personality (what she would be like as a mother) whereas the female evolutionary journey has led them to care about the material and the superficial.

Men have no problem dedicating their life to women and providing everything for them. On the flipside, women have no issue taking 50% of a man's assets, cutting him off from his kids, extorting him for child support/alimony and as if that weren't enough, raising his kids to hate him - all this simply because he made the terrible mistake of not being "interesting" (good-looking) enough for her. As if financial rape wasn't bad enough, they are more than happy to socially/legally rape a man who has provided for them and supported them with, ironically enough, false rape (or DV) accusations which are automatically believed to be true (due to the fact that men are hard-wired to want to protect women).

The statistics speak for themselves; 70%+ divorces are initiated by women, 100% of abortions are the woman's choice (the father's consent is not required), up to 40% of rape accusations are false, women are almost always the ones to end long term relationships -

- and women by the age of 21, the average woman has had 9 "lovers" whereas the average man has had only 2.

Everything we were brought up to believe about men being pigs and women just wanting to be loved is bullshit.

It's worse than that, your fears will most likely count against you in terms of attraction, as does any show of vulnerability/weakness. When they say they want a sensitive man, they mean they want a man who looks like Kurt Cobain and maybe broods every now and then but never cries.
