Maths major, here...

At my uni, physics students goes up to differential equations. Much more isn't need it, imo. Most often or not, physics students have either applied maths or comp sci, as their second major

Differential Geometry is used in GE, yeah. But they'll teach the relevant syllabus needed, in the physics course.
