Well it is useful if you into coding to get the jist of efficient algorithms. Other than that it can and should used for oddly shaped areas, like integrals and such. And also limits are useful when analyzing data.

While yes calculus is practically useless in every day life if you calculate more specific things then you really need it. I think that the level of math taught in highschool is sufficient for most practical applications.

I agree, and this is coming from somebody who's done a lot of calculus. Even mechanical engineers tell me they don't actively use calculus, because the software does it all for them. You only really "do calculus" i.e., equation work on a blackboard or whiteboard, when you're in graduate school in a math or math-heavy program, and even then only depending on your field or specialization.
