It depends on the individual, but I think in most cases it has to do with attention seeking and boredom. From what I've seen, a lot of fakecels are really just edgy normies who see the incel community as a cool counterculture to identify and engage with. These guys are mainly on Discord and e-date their female counterparts, the e-girls. Da Yunez is probably the best example of this type of fakecel.

Having an e-gf is faggoty af, what's the point? it's almost as retarded as having an AI one.

What if the fakecels are just ugly, and don't want to settle for a looksmatch, and decide it's better to find other misogynists to share hate with instead of pursuing a normal life of being an ugly-normie that simps his life away for another sub-5? Or, what if they're just antisocial and hate people in general because of how shitty they are by nature, and would rather be malevolent against people rather than be intimate with them?

I'd say it's a mix of things

A big one I've seen some fakecels even admit is that a lot of these guys were maybe once Incel in a way & ascended a long time ago, so they can kinda relate to us in a way & maybe see themselves as having never really "ascended" in spite of it all

But mainly it's a mix of low self esteem combined with some form of mental illness
