iirc active ear protection still allows you to hear it, it's a smart system, it doesn't muffle all sound.

That truck was probably packed with explosives to make the explosion look cool. That tiny thing couldn't have so much destruction power. Which means it's basically the same stupid old shit just looks like and owl for propaganda purposes.
