Lobotomy has been my interest as of recently, it is not something extremely complicated, rather, it can be done with just a stick bar. It was invented to "correct" crazy behavior by cutting off vital parts of the patients brain. One of the biggest performers of lobotomy called it "eternal childhood" after the surgery.
One successful case involved a cheaty wife, given lobotomy and became a "faithful partner"
That said, in some cases, there are opposite of desires results and usually surgery like this is unpredictable.
What is needed to be done, is for lobotomy to be studied more throughoutly, and with precision of modern surgery machines combined with modern medicines, the undesired results (e.g. stick too far brain poked to death) can be reduced and risk can be reduced.

A reddit post about itMore lobotomies were performed on women than on men: a 1951 study found that nearly 60% of American lobotomy patients were women, and limited data shows that 74% of lobotomies in Ontario from 1948 to 1952 were performed on female patients.
Historically, patients of lobotomy were, immediately following surgery, often stuporous and incontinent. Some developed an enormous appetite and gained considerable weight.

Baker and his associates give us some fascinating vignettes to support their
contemporary use of the frontal lobotomy. Case # 1 is a suburban housewife
who is promiscuous, runs away from home and becomes suicidal on occasion.
After her lobotomy she is no longer promiscuous and becomes a faithful partner
in her marriage

These modern lobotomis ts describe consid era ble changes in the lives of
th eir patients and make facile moral judgm en ts abo ut these changes. One man
so ld the family business that he never want edi one middle aged man we nt out
dating for the first time in his life ; two couples came to blows for the first time;
a nd thr ee marri ages broke up-all of which the a uthor s put their approval
upon as signs that the operat ions mad e the pati en ts "more open" and "less
dependent ."
O ne of their pat ients became so liberated that he went on to rob a bank.
The judge gave him an extra heavy sentence, presumably to compensate for
the moral obtu seness produced by the surgery.
