It's an interesting quote. But I'm not sure of the extent to which it's true.

I think your brain forms its comfort zone for a reason. Maybe the problem is not that you HAVE a comfort zone, but rather what happens when it's... kind of badly calibrated!

It's there to keep you safe. But if it's too small it can stop life from happening and if it's too big... I guess it puts you in danger of some kind.

So yeah, that's my best assessment of that I guess :)

My life ends at the end of my comfort zone

lol I actually put a little electric heater in my room recently despite the house having gas central heating just because housemates keep turning off the thermostat!

Gets tedious fighting over the darn thing!

I have a propane space heater. And a passive solar one in my window. But, I want to eventually make a 12v solar sand heater...

But for now I just have a tiny 8" - comfort zone - fan (on low), sucking the cold air out of my room. The reason for the low fan speed is so as not to disturb the striated hot air at the ceiling. So it "more naturally" flows into my room to replace the cold air being sucked out...

Long ago I used standard big faster fans... But they didn't work very well. Since the switch to small slow low powered - gentle - fan, I haven't really needed to use my propane as much!

I also use a heat-powered fan on my woodstove to push hot air towards my bedroom. There's a low cold, high heat air flow in my hallway. It's weird, but it's cozy.

I've saved a lot of money on both propane and electricity use!

Depending on the floor plan of you're place, you can push you're cold air at them! Lol!

But that would require you leaving you're door open... );

I just hate electric space heaters. They cost too much to use. + dangerous... Nothing is really that good when it comes to cheap heat, except wood. And thats a chore!

Maybe a electric blanket might help? They are mostly efficient.

lol, me trying to understand this post:

Conspiracy theory

Here's me with an electric heater that doesn't even have a fan, a normal radiator, normal portable a/c, and a window. XD

I mean, it's functional but yeah probably not the most efficient, idk.

Oh is this a space heater? It's just... hot metal in a box XD

Heated by electricity.

Wood and coal are kind of cool but not much good for my little bedroom I don't think! I wish they were :D

These electric heaters... I dunno. They might be dangerous if you fall asleep or something and they have things left on top of them that are flammable, I'm not sure.

Is it a electric oil heater? Looks like a radiator?

Basically, what I described is air flow patterns that I gently control.

Actually inhibition can save you from a lot of trouble. Getting out of the comfort zone as a subhuman will land you in a hospital/graveyard very soon.

This. If you always stay in your comfort zone then there is a good reason why you do so

Life begins at 6 foot

Every time I tried to get out of my comfort zone I was physically and/or mentally scarred.

I have just one. Costs 180$ a month to run! Natural gas much cheaper. Had wood pellet stoves.. which was a pain, propane and kerosene, messy.

Natural gas best for heat and associated cost. Propane is cleaner than natural gas, but natural gas a much better option when having used both.

Nat gas is nice...

Yes, I miss it. My trailer uses propane, but I mostly use that electric oil heater that looks like a radiator to heat one room.

Tried to buy a house with nat gas but not going to spend 1/2 million for small modernized house in good neighborhood.

Even property tax crazy at 6-9,000 annually, so I stay in old trailer living like hermit.
