here in america we got selective immigration of curries and filipinos. they do very well economically and the average curry or filipino seems really smart.
but thats not how things work in the bigger picture. if you go back to their homelands and assess how smart the average person is, you'll find that they are even dumber than the average black american.
also, when these successful and smart immigrant curries and filipinos have children in the USA, there is this phenomenon called regression to the mean. their kids aren't as smart as them and are slightly above what the average is back in their homelands.
total offside commentary I wanna add: history will tell us if modernization (westernization) was even necessary for far easterners. modernization theory tells us that history slowly builds up to an end point from feudalism to capitalism. industry, science, technology, and mass production of materials needed for modern warfare.
the last two words are the key here. modern warfare in terms of mass produced armored mechanized units, airplanes, and missiles. all of history and economics builds up to that. a modern industrially equipped army which is essential for a nation to defend itself and survive.
theoretically, if a nation suddenly figured out how consciousness works or learned from an alien species how consciousness works, and were able to harness its powers and do some engineering, they could achieve telekinesis, teleportation, and telepathy and they could wipe out those modern armies instantly with their psychic powers.
and so instantly modernization theory would be completely thrown out of the window and this whole westernization crap is what it is. total crap and wasn't even necessary. of course western economic theorists just automatically assumed this was the inevitable path that civilizations would under go. but what I just wrote totally defies their theories.
