Because I was a dependent on my parent’s tax form last year, back when I was still in college, I won’t be able to get coronabuxx. This is the case even though I paid taxes for all the internships I had throughout college, and even though I am paying taxes on a full time job now. If this year’s returns weren’t delayed maybe I might have been able to get some bux. Parents also do not get any additional money if a dependent is over 16. Anyways, I knew it was all too good to be true.

Me too. Looking back I kinda hate myself for avoiding getting it for past fifteen years. I could've probably bought a small home by this point since I'm so damn responsible and don't drink/drug/gamble/whore.

Mom could've made this seem more acceptable and encouraged my independence sooner by getting in this system, but wanted to keep me reliant on her so subtly shamed anyone in family who was on it.

Filing as a dependent is usually a bad strategy. You get less money compared to filing independently and paying rent.

If they're cutting you off, they're usually obligated to send you an explanation in writing as to when they're doing it and why.

Nah, the money goes directly to my unemployment card. The same thing happened last year until I called them and told them my shit was being left on "pending". Unfortunately, it's usually impossible to get a hold of them on the phone, it's usually impossible to get a hold of them on the chat feature of the unemployment website... and now with corona-chan... it's literally absolutely impossible.

If you'd qualify based on your 2019 return file now. They haven't announced the cutoff date for using 2019 returns for purposes of the stimulus yet. They'll use the most current information they have so long as you make the cutoff they use.
