Played The Witcher 3 in 2016 and have amazing memories from it, absolutely loved that game and its lore, for a while I was obsessed with it and it even motivated me to read the books. Recently I bought The Witcher 2 for very cheap (3€ on black friday sales) and just completed it, yes it's more limited and linear than the sequel but if you like RPG games it's still very good. The story is so dark and gritty, the monsters you fight are kewl and you have to take several decisions that have real impact on the ending of the game.
The combat in the beginning was unforgiving but when I got the hang of it and leveled up a bit I was unstopabble and slashed everything with my two swords (iron for humans, silver for monsters) or used my spells on them

Also you get to fuck a hot redhead sorceress and a blonde tomboy soldier with tattoos

Hopefully The Witcher 1 remake is good because they say the first game has aged terribly and even in 2007 it felt outdated. I think I have it in my Gog account (got it for free for the 10th anniversary of the game IIRC) but never played it due to its bad reviews.
