TBH, It might be legit in Asia. Asia doesn't have fucked up divorce laws.
If i get a job, ill become an scortcel, no doubt, which is basically the same.
to my modern sensibilities it seems kind of fucked up being separated from her family. but it almost seems like she was almost okay with it up untill the point she realized the dude is a peasant.
