That's probably why that kind of gender imbalance is allowed to happen, btw.

I would be more puzzled and concerned if suddenly the males were significantly outnumbering females.

It's temperature dependent sex determination (TSD). They don't have heteromorphous sex chromosomes, their sex is determined by the temperature during the incubation of eggs. TSD happens in teleosts and also in many sauropsids (like all crocodilians, some lizards, most chelonians and sphenodontines). Many also believe that it happens in amphibians (based on empirical knowledge).
