now in Brazil, there is legislation that criminalizes jokes about race, even when presented as humor or entertainment. Law No. 14,532, equated any perceived racial insult with the crime of racism. Jokes that perpetuate racist or discriminatory stereotypes can be considered crimes, especially when they offend the dignity of historically marginalized groups. The aim of the legislation is to curb so-called "recreational racism", which uses humor as a way to disguise and perpetuate racial prejudice.

the UK is more viral on twitter but it actually happens everywhere. in spain it's in the criminal code that there's fines and prison sentences for making jokes about trannies, faggots, niggers, gypsies or women, or for questioning the holocaust. it's pathetic.
