OP is right, the biggest recipients of affirmative action are white, upper-middle-class women. I know "intersectionality" is a concept in modern feminism but I do think that it's nothing more than lip service. Elite boarding schools, universities, investment banks, corporate law outfits, consulting firms, engineering companies, et cetera are still filled to the brim with white individuals, and "diversity hiring" initiatives have no actual effect other than replacing privileged white men with similarly privileged white women.

The problem with affirmative action practices is that it does absolutely nothing to rectify the root causes of inequality, because actually doing so would require effort and money, like funding for schools and community policing in deprived neighbourhoods. In tech too it's heavily stacked against men who go for software engineering positions because they desperately want to make it 50/50. As you know, this field suits the male mind very well - logical, problem-solving activity.

If you're equal to a woman in development skills then you will not get the job. If you're only 2-3 points better you still won't. You need to be the top of the field to enter the job market now. Men are still funnily enough winning despite the MASSIVE disavantages, but many weaker men are being discriminated against.

Once women get these jobs it's over for most men. Women naturally listen more and follow rules well, but they also bring more mediocrity to it. That's why you see that so many tech speakers are women, but you never see a new technical revolution being made by a woman. The testosterone levels will come down and so naturally will the competition. It's pretty much ruined like everything else in society.
