yeah, the synagogue is owned by the local Jewish community (gmina żydowska), but it had been rented by the Chabad organisation for a few years; the contract finally ran out and apparently Chabad hadn't been treating the property well enough and the owner decided to raise the rent - Chabad didn't accept the new price, because according to them the contract should automatically renew on the old conditions (nah) and the price is too high and unfair (they started a court case); they didn't pay the rent, so the owner (the Jewish community) cut out their water and electricity, but the tenant used their portable electricity generators; the owner eventually decided to kick them out and the great kvetching has begun there were comparisons to Nazis already, so it's great
