Imagine having a whole nation-state created for a group of people's largely unrelated to each other aside from some adherence to an Ancient religion that's changed over thousands of years. Ashkenazi in particular aren't even Semitic and they immigrate to a desert land in the near east.

Exactly. The Palestinians were there first (where Israel is now), the jews aren't even ethnically from this part of the world they immigrated there from Europe but they were always jewish
