This is what happens when you hand complex, high trust systems over to low trust, caste fractured societies. Indians operating modern tech is like giving F16 Jets to medieval warlords. Half way thru my lamb saag (delicious) I left the table to go to the bathroom.
When I returned, the proprietor had taken one of those electric fly swatters that look like a tennis racket, he'd got a fly with it, and he was holding it down on the floor in the middle of his quite nice restaurant, and electrocuting the fly to death. There was a plume of burning fly smoke rising up from it to the ceiling. It absolutely stank, that burning fly was all I could smell for the rest of our meal.
You just never know what to expect from pajeets. Delicious food, sexy toilets in amazing silky clothes, but then they are going to burn a fly to death right in front of you while you're eating, or take a big steaming shit on the pavement, or switch off the fuel pumps on the jet...
