Mass stabbing in Kawasaki leaves 19 injured, at least two feared dead

YOKOHAMA - A total of 19 people, including elementary school children, were injured in a mass stabbing Tuesday at around 7:45 a.m. in Kawasaki, with many of them seriously injured and at least one child and an adult showing no vital signs, the local fire department said.
Investigative sources said they had detained a suspect in the mass stabbing, a man who appeared to be in his 40s or 50s, who had also himself in the area around his neck. The suspect was unconscious and in serious condition, they said.


Authorities also found two knives at the site that appeared to have been used in the attack.
Scores of police, firemen and other officials were seen at the site in Kawasaki’s Tama Ward near Noborito Station.
“I heard fire engines coming in the morning and I saw a man lying on the ground bleeding,” a man who lives nearby told public broadcaster NHK. “I saw many elementary school children lying on the ground near a school bus stop. School rucksacks were scattered all over the place.
“There was another man lying on the ground bleeding at a municipal-run bus stop near the school’s bus stop,” the man added.

Weak law enforcement I assume. I bet the police are weak af and unprepared to handle real physical conflict.

Among all countries, Japan is the most polite and socially conversative yet majority of the mass killing incidents comes from here out of similar socially similar places (HK Taiwan Singapore Korea etc)

You're right that, but don't you think police response should've been sooner? I think that the law enforcement in east asian and south asian countries is pretty weak because the people in general are pretty weak, passive and not particularly prone to violence like in America where you have savages running around with weapons shooting people. As a result, the law enforcement in the US is much more developed. Police training is superior. The police themselves are inherently physically superior and of course, they are much more militarized than their asian counterparts.

The police is probably pretty fast as it can be, you can't rely on police in ER events tbh.

And weak or not, it doesn't take few men to control the stabber, and police force are armed with 9mm pistols so they can do wonders
