I've been in Tokyo, Japan for 4 days now, staying there 2 weeks.
And I'm a bit disappointed.
I'm still enjoying my travel, but it's different from what I expected...
I expected this advanced hight-tech-ish society, and it's nothing like that,
they have no more tech than the west, everything is just the same.
There are just a few areas - a dozen streets - like "in the movies"
the rest is all just like western cities
The women are disappointing too,
I walked for hours and crossed path with tousands of people,
the average for 25 year old girl here is 4/10
comparing this to France (I'm french) in Paris the average 25 year old girl would be 6/10
Japanese girls are just less attractive on average than white girls
I expected young people to speak English, but they don't,
most girls don't speak English, they speak a few words yes, but cannot hold a conversation,
so you can't really "date" 80% of them unless you speak jap
Girls are very unapproachable, they walk fast by looking down and don't smile
Over a thousand people I crossed only one girl smiled back, but by the few seconds I took to gather my thoughts she was lost in the crowd.
I did a few cold approaches but they didn't speak English or were sort of interested but too shy and in panic to accept a date or didn't even stop
Got a few matches on tinder but no reply yet, they must use the app once a few days and probably don't speak English
Will go to bar tonight or tomorrow night to try
I realize now that 2 weeks here is a bit much, one week would have been enough.
Still enjoying it tough.
I'll post new experiences here, still 12 days to go
TLDR: Japan (Tokyo) is a bit disappointing, not high tech at all, worse looking girls than the west, hard to date.
