It struck me a minute ago.
They are so accustomed to pleasure, happines, constant attention and gratification that neutral periods of time seem abnormal for them.
That explains a lot of bullshit. For example, when they speak that they are depressed for no reason. There is really no reason. They just think that it is not normal to feel sadness or indifference from time to time. They don't realize that a person can become disfunctional due to years of negative reinforcement. They can go out, go to work, have families etc. They are just persuated that occasional sadness is something alien and unnatural.
That is why they always talk about "chemical imbalance". In real life while some studies have identified links between distinct chemical imbalances and specific mental health conditions, researchers do not know how people develop chemical imbalances in the first place. But I'll tell you - through fucking stress, traumatic experience and restriction from natural healthy activities such as sex.
Current biological testing also cannot reliably verify a mental health condition. Doctors do not, therefore, diagnose mental health conditions by testing for chemical imbalances in the brain. Instead, they make a diagnosis based on a person's symptoms and the findings of a physical examination.
