Dragon Ball for example.
Sayains are a warrior race and when in their super form their eyes turn blue and their hair blonde.
Hmmm
:waitwhat::waitwhat::waitwhat::waitwhat::waitwhat:
What could that be inspired by?

Or Zelda. Garudo are very obviously a parody of Muslims and ganondorf is basically a copy and paste of the anti christ described in revelations. Yet these media literate individuals will tell you there's no real world religious influences in Zelda outside of eastern ones :lul:

Final Fantasy 7 would be another good example. The game very clearly has religious themes inspired by Judaism and Christianity that the media literate ignore in favor of saying Sephiroth is a metaphor for capitalism.

Why are the media literate so illiterate?

Also whenever they discuss fight club they miss that the book was completely non ironic and was not intended to criticize radicals. They seem to think it's mocking toxic masculinity which is amusing.

Link was literally, and I'm not making this up, a christian in the first Zelda game, it was only much later that they introduced the whole "three goddess" thing

when they say "media literacy" they mean men bad capitalism bad and nothing else.
