Reddit is long gone at this point. It's obvious that their audience is identity politics liberals with some alt-right but still gynocentric groups left around as controlled opposition and to paint a picture that "there's still more work to do in fighting against hate".
They also view femaledatingstrategy and other radical feminist subs as countering any male oriented subs and so leave the former alone while trying to ban and quarantine the latter and cultivate less of a male dominated userbase that they've been criticized for having in the past by the media.
Being anti-male is the cornerstone of modern progressive thought. In almost every context, with a few very specific exceptions, females are given more leeway and allowed greater privileges then males. Its not surprising that reddit mods, who are very leftist and progressive, would embody those ideas so fervently.
