I am not actually sure. Used to have a bad habit of assuming most humans are reasonably intelligent (which honestly only leads to anger), and maybe you can't fault people for not knowing jargon. Then I assumed it is laziness. They could just go to another tab and surely search this stuff up?

But reflecting on things, it never took too much effort to understand the lingo on pretty much any forum I've browsed. Even if there was a word that you can't understand from context, you can always search it up on Urban Dictionary. Now that I think of it, this might be one of the reasons why vocabulary scales so much with g amongst other reasons. You need to keep track of what is being said around a novel word in order to better understand it.

I mean an alternative hypothesis is that they have seen only like 2 extremely shallow (in the content surrounding the speak) images, but I somehow feel as though that is unlikely.

I wish we all just spoke fucking English.

On one side, I agree that it makes communication just that much harder to take seriously. Shit just feels much more post-ironic. At the same time, it locks utter morons from being able to interact much with the communities that do use these terms.
